Montsalvat Artists

Since the 1930's, Montsalvat has been an inspiration to various artists from painter Helen Lempriere to the Rolling Stones, who held a press conference at Montsalvat in 1971. Founder Justus Jörgensen held regular dinners at Montsalvat that drew people from all walks of life where nothing was too sacred or profane to be discussed.

Montsalvat is still ‘home’ to a number of artists, including painters, sculptors, instrument-makers and jewellery makers. Many live at Montsalvat, while others visit in order to teach classes or workshops. Click here to see options of the various classes and workshops available.
