The Meeting Pool is the perfect place to enjoy French provincial style food in Eltham, prepared by our energetic new chef, Adam Nye. Before joining us at the Meeting Pool, Adam learnt his craft from noted chef Thierry Vauzelle at his delightful French bistro in Armadale - Chez Bob.
On a sunny day you can sit in the courtyard, sip a cool drink or a latte while the peacocks and native birds sing, strut and dance but beware of the kookaburra who delights in snatching the odd titbit.

Montsalvat was founded by the artist, architect and philosopher Justus Jörgensen and his friends in 1935. Over the years it has become something of a legend - the artist's collective of Montsalvat, known worldwide as one of Australia's most creative and active art centres. The central building, known as the Great Hall, is built in local stone with great carved limestone windows which hark back to the French Gothic that had so inspired Jörgensen. It is built much in the style of a medieval French provincial hall and is now one of Melbourne’s iconic heritage buildings. Artists and artisans inhabit the various studios which are spread across the 5 hectares of gardens.
An oasis for receptions, conferences and parties, Montsalvat also regularly hosts concerts and exhibitions and is open to visitors.
The fully licensed Meeting Pool restaurant is where Chef, Adam Nye offers many beautiful dishes, loosely based on the French provincial classics. Some of our produce is grown in our own extensive gardens with the herbs freshly plucked to garnish or flavour such dishes as Pissaladière – Provençale onion tart with olives and anchovies, pork rillettes with cornichons and garlic and herb sourdough, a warm duck salad with shallots and walnut dressing, juniper and pepper berry marinated kangaroo fillet with potato rösti, Barramundi fillet meuniere with celeriac, fennel and raisin salad, Oeufs à la neige - poached meringues with crème Anglaise and apple calvados caramel.
There is also an extensive well priced wine lists featuring many wines from the region.
With our friendly service and calming surrounds the Meeting Pool is a great addition to the Eltham dining scene.
