Congratulations to Tamara Dean for her winning work, 'Damien' in the 2011 'Olive Cotton Award' for photographic portraiture.
The portrait of Montsalvat resident artist Damien Skipper was made during Tamara's artist's residency at Montsalvat, Victoria, 2010.
The judges said the "filmic and mysterious" image is an "exemplary portrait, referencing both the history of photography and film, whilst creating a strikingly original and effective image".
The prize is funded by the Cotton family in memory of one of Australia's leading 20th-century photographers.
