Winner of Nillumbik Prize 'People's Choice' award




Nerina Lascelles has been announced as the winner of the 2011 Nillumbik Prize 'People's Choice' award.

Montsalvat in association with the Nillumbik Shire Council has great pleasure in announcing that the People’s Choice Award for this year’s Nillumbik Prize is Long-Leaf Box Collage by Hurstbridge artist Nerina Lascelles.

 

Nerina Lascelles is an accomplished Melbourne Artist who has been exhibiting in Australia and internationally for over 20 years.  Her paintings are part of private collections in Australia, Singapore, UK, America and Japan. She is currently an artist in residence at Dunmoochin in Cottlesbridge.

 

The winning voter of the People’s Choice Award was 9 year old Taliesin Platt of Montmorency. He will receive a gift voucher to the Montsalvat Café to the value of $100. A total of 400 visitors voted on the People’s Choice Award.

 

The 2011 Nillumbik Prize attracted over 100 entrants from the Nillumbik Shire and more than 250 works were submitted for consideration by a panel of selectors. A total of 40 artists were chosen to hang work in the exhibition and the main prize of $5,000 was awarded by judge Eleanor Hart to Diamond Creek artist Peter Wegner for his work  Man Resting 2011.

 

We look forward to the launching of the 2012 Nillumbik prize in February/March next year.
