Sebastian Jörgensen

Son of Montsalvat founder, Justus Jörgensen, Sebastian is a former student of such guitar luminaries as Len Williams, Sadie Bishop, Jose Luis Gonzalez (Australia), Ida Presti, Alexander Lagoya (France), Ahrio Diaz (Italy), and John Williams (London). Winner of the coveted Castel Maria de Stabia Guitar Competition (Italy), Sebastian has played at Wigmore Hall, Royal Albert Hall, Royal Festival Hall alongside guitarists Paco Pena, Bert Jansch, Tim Walker and Jimi Hendrix.

A respected performer and teacher of the guitar, since his return to Australia (in 1972), after over a decade of performing and studying in Europe, he has devoted himself to music and especially to the study of the much neglected music of the Australian Aborigines, music which he regards as a vitally important and intrinsic part of Australia's culture. Sebastian has recorded with notable groups Yothu Yindi, the David Gulpilil Group and his recent project Waak Waak Jungi.
