Anxiety can have a debilitating effect on the physical body. Throats tighten, stomachs churn, and brains fog. Decay translates these emotions into physical marks on the human figure. Piles of naked bodies overlap and intersect, and are disrupted with textures that invade the flesh like a disease. In some works, circular sections of the body have been removed entirely to leave an empty, dark core. Incorporating photography, paint and wax, Hudson’s process immerses anonymous nude figures within an ethereal, dream-like state, where limbs bruised with paint tidelines emerge in and out of clarity.
