EXHIBITION: Alistair Whyte - A Potter's Life

For over forty years Alistair Whyte has honed his skills as a ceramic artist. After training in the western Leach tradition, he spent some years in Japan where the oriental traditions and techniques he absorbed fundamentally changed his approach. Working with the delicacy and the rigours of porcelain have become the mainstay of his practice, but never a limiting factor. Instead Alistair has explored many and diverse aspects of his craft. The depth and breadth of Alistair’s experience and skills will be on display in his upcoming exhibition at Montsalvat. “I have had many good teachers” says Alistair, “and I wish to honour the depth of their teaching and pass on what I can to the next generation.”
