EXHIBITION: Ros Muston and Kate Shearer - Marks of Time

Roslyn Muston

Roslyn Muston has spent most of her adult life studying and working in environmental science in NSW, QLD and the ACT.  When she moved to Melbourne on 2008 she switched the focus of her interests and her career to develop an art practice across the mediums of painting, ceramics and printmaking.

Roslyn began printmaking in 2016 after discovering the magic and alchemy of metal plate etching.  Her printmaking practice now often combines traditional etching methods with collagraph, monoprint and drypoint. Her works on paper are created at the Baldessin Studio where she is a member of the studio management and technical support team.

Kathryn Shearer

Kathryn lives in the northeast region of Melbourne and began her creative journey after completing her degree in Graphic Art. For over 30 years she has developed her art practice across the mediums of photography, drawing and printmaking. Following her introduction to Baldessin Studio in 2017, she has explored the wonders of photogravure, mokulito and intaglio printmaking.

Kathryn is inspired by the seen and unseen poetic nuances in our surroundings. She encourages the viewer to discover and interpret their own reality in the hidden and presented form. The linear mark making defines the energy that envelops our physical and metaphorical universe.
