John Coltrane [23 September 1926 - 17 July 1967] was an American Jazz saxophonist, bandleader and composer. He is among the most influential and acclaimed figures in the history of Jazz and twentieth century music.

This concert celebrates his birthday and features the talents of special guest Andy Sugg, a leading authority on the life and music of Coltrane [and one incredible tenor player] supported by the power rhythm section of Bob Sedergreen, Ted Vining [both OZ Jazz Hall Of Fame inductees] and multi Aria Award winner, bassist Nick Haywood.

“Chasin' The Trane” promises to be a very exciting and memorable Montsalvat Jazz event - not to be missed!

We dedicate this performance to the memory of Montsalvat Jazz Festival founder Sigmund Jorgensen.

This concert raises funds for the restoration of the Great Hall, one of the original Montsalvat buildings.
