EPHEMERA + YELIAN AND JOSEPH

EPHEMERA TRIO

A musical exploration of celestial landscapes such as pulsars, craters, planetary atmospheres, stars, sun and void.

Merging the sound worlds of jazz and contemporary classical, and set to real space sounds, it is a unique sonic experience. The ensemble is led by Keyna Wilkins (piano/flute/compositions) with Elsen Price (double bass) and Will Gilbert (trumpet) and includes freely improvised pieces. NASA recordings of electromagnetic waves from planets and stars is the backdrop soundtrack and has been compiled by astronomer Professor Paul Francis. Since forming in 2015 they have released 2 albums on all streaming platforms: Blackholes and Modulations 2021 and Orbits and Riffs 2017, and have performed around Australia including MONA, Phoenix Central Park, Sydney Women’s International Jazz Festival and more.
