EXHIBITION: Kate Belvedere - Decay

The fact the world is always decaying and falling away is the source of it's very vitality. Vitality is change. Life is death; it is always falling apart." -Alan Watts.

The culmination of two years meditation on the rise and fall of organic materials, the exhibition seeks to share a small part of this journey. Presenting a variety of mediums, from oil paint, to etching, silverpoint and graphite, the selection of works is also the joyous discovery of new media.

Co-ordinator and teacher of the Montsalvat Youth Art Classes, Kate Belvedere is very proud to be showing her first solo exhibition at Montsalvat. A multi-disciplinary artist and recent VCA graduate, Belvedere was selected as a finalist in this years Adelaide Perry prize for drawing as well as the Banyule Award for Works on Paper.
