Traditionally jazz has been an important part of Montsalvat with the Montsalvat Jazz Festival running annually from 1988 until 1996. The 2023 Montsalvat Jazz Concert Series has very successfully reconnected with this tradition, excellent performers and audiences. Our aim now is to provide opportunities for young jazz musicians.

Montsalvat is holding a competition for young jazz ensembles with a prize of $2,000 for the winning group and $500 for the runner up. On October 8th we invite you to hear the emerging jazz group finalists perform!

The winning group will also be invited to perform as guest artists at an upcoming jazz concert at Montsalvat.
