2. There will be no on-site parking available for this event.
3. This event will go ahead regardless of weather conditions on the day. In the event of inclement weather, outdoor programs will be relocated indoors.

Workshop details

10am-11am: Frame Drumming with Matt Stonehouse
Frame drums have been played for millennia, with depictions of women playing them in 5,800 BCE in Catal Hoyuk, Anotolia and Mesopotamia.
In this free one hour workshop participants will experience the frame drum ensemble- crossing rhythms, learning techniques and playing on hand crafted drums. No experience is necessary but a passion for music and culture is!

10.15am-11.30am: Claytalk: Kids hand building with Mary-Lou Pittard
Kids will be guided through the process of hand building animals using pinch techniques.
Age:  School Age
Number of places:  10 - BOOKED OUT

11.30am-1.30pm: Claytalk: Adult wheel throwing with Tania Jeffery
The workshop is aimed at beginners and will guide people through the basics of wheel throwing.
Age:  Adult

11am-12pm: Tour of Montsalvat
Ideal for any history, art or architecture enthusiasts, our historic tours cover a brief history of Montsalvat's buildings and grounds, discussing the unique characters who built this beautiful artists colony, as well as detailing the procedures that went into the construction of the various buildings. 
Gather in the Barn Gallery 5 minutes before your tour and wait for tour guide.

12pm-2pm: Life drawing with Emmy Mavroidis
This workshop will be focusing on movement in the human form.
Materials provided  (or byo if you prefer).
Number of places: 10 - BOOKED OUT
Please gather at the Barn gallery at 11.55am and wait for the facilitator.

1pm-2pm: Childrens bookmaking with Anna-Maria Drutzel
Anna has been teaching her simple bookmaking technique for making concertina books (from her own hand dyed papers and mostly recycled materials) at Arts Festivals and in community spaces for several years. This workshop is suitable for children aged 4-12 (younger children will require adult supervision) and an easy process to repeat at home. Once completed, participants will be invited to fill their books with poems, stories, drawings and dream symbols, or their books can be used to hold memories of their day at the Montsalvat Arts Festival.
Number of places: 8 maximum - BOOKED OUT
Gather at reception in the Barn Gallery at 12.55pm and wait for facilitator.

1pm-3pm: Drama with Krystalla Pearce and Vanessa O'Neill in response to Alwan Trio performance
What happens when you think like an artist? Join us for a workshop of theatre and art making with Lincoln Center trained teaching artists and theatre makers Krystalla Pearce and Vanessa O'Neill. Participants will attend the Alwan Trio's magical performance in the Meadow Amphitheatre, which will be followed by a one hour hands-on theatre workshop. We will physically explore the Alwan Trio's music making finishing off with a small performance of our own.
Age: Adults and children over 12yo
Number of places: 24

1.30pm-3.30pm: Claytalk: Adult hand building planters with Denholm Lappas
Coil build planters – in the workshop, people will be shown how to coil build a planter pot.
Age: Adult

2pm-3pm: Tour of Montsalvat

2pm-3pm: Childrens Kitchen Symphony with Sharon Eades
The Kitchen Symphony workshop is a musical workshop for children which involves creating a variety of sounds with household kitchen objects. This workshop will endeavour to provide children with the basics in rhythm, group orchestral skills and musical performance.
Age: For children 8 – 12
Number of places: 10 children maximum

*Notes: 
CLAYTALK ADDITIONAL COSTS:
Any work produced can bisque fired at an additional cost of $10.
It can then be picked up 2 weeks after the Arts Festival.
